Waking up on Monday the roller coaster of fear and nervousness was clear in our room. It was as if I had already felt the aches from the hike. I wasn’t ready. I prepared myself for pain but still was extremely not ready. As rachel made it clear we would be walking quite far. When we started off me and Joe made up jokes and did would you rather. That was fun. Rachel told us that there were different “zones” of the mountains. At the bottom was the Northern hardwood zone where trees like the Hemlock. In the middle is the “boreal” zone with trees like pines and oak grow. And at the top is the Alpine zone where pine trees grow. (a few other trees grow here too.)
